Support Youth Cardiac Arrest Prevention
Newnan CPR & AED are a big supporter of the Matthew Mangine Jr. “One Shot” Foundation
The Matthew Mangine Jr. “One Shot” Foundation helps protect young athletes by promoting cardiac emergency
preparedness in youth and high school sports. Their work supports awareness, education, and practical safety
steps such as Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and improved access to Automated External
Defibrillators (AEDs).
The One Shot foundation was created by Kim and Matt Mangine Sr. after they lost their healthy, active 16-year-old son,
Matthew Mangine Jr., to sudden cardiac arrest in June 2020. Parents should not have to bury healthy children, especially on a school practice field with CPR-trained coaches and trainers there. An AED was less than a minute away but was not
retrieved or used; EMS applied an AED about 15 minutes after he collapsed.
If you feel led to give, please consider donating directly to the One Shot Foundation. Your donation supports
their 501(c)(3) mission to help schools and sports programs be ready to respond – because in a cardiac emergency,
every minute matters.
