BloodBorne Pathogen Training (BBP)
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulates facilities where employees may be exposed to BloodBorne pathogens (BBP). In addition, OSHA also requires annual training for workers likely to be exposed. It also is excellent training for family members that desire to minimize their chance of getting a BloodBorne illness, like ebola.
Ebola virus disease (also called Ebola hemorrhagic fever) has been in the news a lot lately. You probably know it’s a devastating disease that we all want to avoid. There are bloodborne illnesses much more prevalent in our country, for example, Hepatitis and HIV. Consequently, we teach all of them in our BloodBorne Pathogen Training course.
Our BloodBorne Pathogen training (BBP) complies with federal and state OSHA requirements for workers who may be exposed to human BloodBorne Pathogens. This can be by contact with blood, body fluids, tissues or unfixed cells of human origin. We recommend BBP course for all healthcare workers, electrologists, tattoo artists, body piercers, and lab workers. Likewise, any other worker or employee groups that could be exposed to blood and human blood products.
BloodBorne Pathogen Training length is 2 hours, cost is $30 (in 2020 – $35), and provides a 1-year certification. (Yea, we know – all the other courses we teach are 2-year certification. That’s not our fault – it’s an across-the-board OSHA regulation for the 1-year certification).
